Frequently asked questions:

What are control valves used for?
These valves are used to control flow, temperature or other variables based on its valve type for its specific function.
What types of pressure control valves are there?
Pressure reducing valves, pressure relief valves, directional flow valves and flow control valves are pressure control valve types.
What is the difference between pressure relief valve and pressure reducing valve?
A pressure reducing valve would normally be fitted with a component that requires a reduction in pressure. They are typically used in clamping and punching operations, where both a clamping cylinder and a punching cylinder can be operated using the same hydraulic pump. A pressure relief valve will normally be fitted with the main hydraulic pump discharge line. Its main purpose is to monitor the hydraulic pressure in hydraulic pump discharge line, according to the required pressure that operates the actuator. Visit this page to view the characteristics of each valve.
What are the two types of pressure relief valves?
Pilot operated pressure control valves and direct operated pressure control valves. Pilot operated valves make use of processed fluid that assists in piloting the operation of the valve where direct operated valves use a direct connection to directly open and close a component in which the valve is to fulfil. View our products here.
What is a directional flow control valve?
As the core function in a hydraulic or pneumatic system, this valve facilitates flow, whether it be liquid or gas, in different paths from one or more source. For example, downstream pressure control valves and backpressure control valves.
Do control valves have flow direction?
Yes. The direction of flow is based on different factors such as delta pressure, cavitation the size of the valve opening, etc. There are also valves that can alter flow direction, for instance, some valves prevent the flow of matter from having backflow within pipes for specific applications.
